We married at the Royal Theater in Archer City in April 2016.

Zack didn't know what hit him!

Petey, sporting his tiny bowtie, waits on me to finish my makeup before the ceremony.

BOOTLEGGERS & BOHEMIANS DECOR began as an Etsy shop for vintage items, then pivoted to a second shop exclusively for home decor and kitchenware.

Our creations meet at the intersection of the old and new described as modern rustic. We're unquestionably influenced by the Southwestern and industrial styles that flourish in our home state of Texas.

Of the two of us, Zack leans more toward rustic details like live edge wood, tin roofs and stained concrete floors. I harbor a fierce love of all things vintage, including California pottery, collectible Pyrex, colorful textiles and Dorothea Lange images.

I'm also a passionate photographer. My camera of choice is a Canon 5D MK III. I shoot all of our product photography plus most of the photographs you'll see for sale in our store.

Zack manages the woodworking, including cutting boards, cheese boards, live edge tables, and mantels. He sources wood, executes designs, and oversees every tiny detail down to rubbing oil on the cutting boards.

We met in Zack's hometown of Archer City in 2009 when I was visiting during a writer's retreat. He played guitar and wrote songs and was brought in by our professor to talk about songwriting.

The next year, when I visited again, Zack was planning to move near Fort Worth. We kept in touch, and a friendship turned into a first date at the Fort Worth Stockyards.

A few years later, on Thanksgiving, Zack proposed to me on the marquee at the Royal Theater in Archer City, a hundred feet from where we first met. It's the same movie theater featured in Larry McMurtry's Last Picture Show.

That's where we got married in April 2016. It seemed quite fitting to get hitched where we first met with our families and close friends as witnesses. The minister (who is Zack's great-uncle), forgot to say, "Kiss the bride," so I took matters into my own hands. Zack's surprised expression is priceless!

Our son, Holt, was born in February 2017. His "brother," our tiny terrier Petey, completes our little family.
